MADAGASCAR PALM

The Madagascar Palm, scientifically known as Pachypodium lamerei, is a distinctive and drought-tolerant succulent native to Madagascar. 

The Madagascar Palm is not a true palm but rather a succulent plant belonging to the Apocynaceae family. It’s characterized by its thick, spiny trunk and crown of slender gray-green leaves that cluster at the top of the plant. The trunk of the Madagascar Palm can grow up to 20 feet (about 6 meters) tall in its native habitat but remains smaller when grown as a houseplant.

This succulent species produces showy, white, trumpet-shaped flowers during the spring and summer months whose fragrant blooms add to the plant’s ornamental appeal.
